Sensei has been teaching martial arts since 1972, focusing on karate and kobudo.

     Sensei has taught karate physical education classes at the University of Hawaii and conducted a number of self-defense seminars.

     In 1995, Sensei co-founded Kick Start karate, a martial arts program designed to help "AT RISK" youngsters to complete their education and succeed in life.  More than 600 youngsters have been involved in the program at no cost to them.

     Member of the Athletic Amateur Union-Katate and the Hawaii Kodansha Kai.  Master Instructor of the year 2002.  World Karate Union Hall of Fame.  

     Outstanding Advocate of Children and Youth 2000 Presented by Supreme Court of Hawaii Chief Justice Ronald T. Moon.

     Special Recognition for Dedication to the Art of Karate-Do 1999 Presented by All Hawaii State Karate-Do Championships.
