In order to make full use of your time here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we recommend that you visit San Francisco Visitor's Bureau. This site will give you a great idea of what to see and do while in the city. For travel and sights within San Francisco we recommend that you go to the city pass for San Francisco website. Also if you are interested in the wine country, there are many websites that provide you lots of information www.google.com. Perhaps the best is Napa Valley Visitor's Bureau.
Visit Alcatraz
For those wishing to visit Alcatraz, this should be done on the web as you can get the exact date and time you want. This can be done at www.alcatraztickets.com or www.alcatraz.us. Whale watching tours are available for most of the year. You may visit the oceanic society website at www.oceanic-society.org. Then you can navagate through the site. There are two tours available. One from San Francisco and the other from Half Moon Bay which is about 35 miles south of San Francisco. They may also be reached at 415-474-3385.
Please keep in mind that during the summer, the Bay Area is very busy and as such you need to plan as far ahead as possible and let us know what your wishes are so we can help you with your plans. We will do everything possible to make your stay in Region 9 as memorable as can be.
Region 9 does not have an IPA house. We do have a couple of hotels that we use. These are in the middle of the city and usually go for around $80 a night, continental breakfast included. It is two blocks from Union Square.
