Scholarships

Making a donation toward a Kiwanis scholarship is an investment in the future of our community and the world.  The students receiving scholarship awards hope to become physicians, scientists, educators, writers, inventors and more.  The cost of higher education prevents many students from realizing their dreams and fulfilling their potential. Scholarships give students hope that those dreams are within reach.  In addition, because we go through the Dollars for Scholars Foundation, many of the scholarships awarded can receive matching dollars from the University the students attend.  That doubles our investment!

Kiwanis Club of North Mason Foundation Trust Fund
The Kiwanis Club of North Mason Foundation Trust Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that raises money to provide scholarships to worthy, qualified North Mason High School students.  Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their academic achievements, community involvement, need, and future goals.  Established in August of 2000, the Foundation has awarded scholarships every year to graduating North Mason High School seniors.

The Foundation currently has three scholarships in three different accounts to be awarded annually.  The general Foundation fund generates enough interest, that a $500 scholarship is awarded annually.  The Tom Kelly Memorial Scholarship Fund honors former North Mason School District Superintendent and a Kiwanis member.  It provides an annual scholarship of $500 until the donations to this fund are used or until donations reach $10,000, at which point it becomes perpetual.  The Gordon Monten annual vocational award of $500 is also managed through the Trust and awarded annually.

The Kiwanis Club of North Mason

The Kiwanis Club of North Mason raises money throughout the year to give additional scholarships to deserving North Mason High School seniors.  Total award amounts vary depending on the success of our four summer garage sales and other fund raising events.  A special thank you to our community for all the donations to make the garage sales successful.  In recent years we have been able to award over $3500 in scholarships each year.
